If you're anything like me, Chill Island is where you will spend a ton of time on your cruise. Why? Because it's home to four of the ships pools, the Lime and Coconut and so much more. Read on to learn more about what all you will find at this amazing neighborhood on the all-new cruise ship, Icon of the Seas!
Pools
The Cove Pool
With amazing views of the ocean, The Cove Pool is where you'll want to be when you're ready to relax. I'm loving that Royal Caribbean has added all of these ocean-facing pools with infinity edges because they allow guests to truly enjoy the scenery while lounging in the pool. You'll find in-pool loungers here and daybeds close by. You'll be right next to The Lime and Coconut Bar so a refreshing drink is never far away. And did I mention there will be live Caribbean music at The Cove Pool? Sign me up!
Royal Bay Pool
Located on Deck 15, the Royal Bay pool is set to be the LARGEST pool at Sea. This pool will hold over 40,000 gallons of water! The Royal Bay Pool overlooks central park from its infinity edge, features in-water loungers, two whirlpools (on on each side), and plenty of seating around the pool both in the sun and under cover. You'll also enjoy a variety of live Caribbean music and The Lime and Coconut is just steps away so when you're ready a frozen drink or specialty cocktail you won't have far to go!
Swim & Tonic:
This ocean-facing pool will feature the first swim-up bar for Royal Caribbean and is also the largest swim-up bar at sea. Located on Deck 16, this is where you'll find the party. With the swim-up bar, in-water loungers and a resident DJ, Swim & Tonic is where you'll want to be if you're ready to party and have a good time! You'll also find one whirlpool at this pool and lots of loungers around the pool and the Lime and Coconut Bar, which is just a few short steps from the pool.
Cloud 17
Located on deck 17, this ocean-facing pool is reserved for adults-only, which as an empty-nester are words I love to hear! You'll enjoy private access to The Lime and Coconut literally just right behind the pool and have access to plenty of loungers and daybeds. There is a cantilevered whirlpool just around the corner that will offer amazing views of the ocean. Guests lounging at Cloud 17 will enjoy live Caribbean music throughout the day as well.
Dine & Drink
Let's continue our overview of Chill Island by looking at all the options for getting drinks & food nearby, two necessities when spending time at the pools!
The Lime and Coconut
If you frequently cruise with Royal Caribbean, you're probably familiar with The Lime and Coconut, but like with basically everything on Icon of the Seas, it's bigger and better than every before. The Lime and the Coconut will span three levels so guests hanging out at any of the four pools in Chill Island will have easy access to cocktails no matter where they are! You'll find two Lime and Coconut locations on deck 15, a location right next to the Swim & Tonic pool on Deck 16 and one right next to Cloud 17 on the 17th deck. While it is the first bar dedicated to frozen cocktails, The Lime and Coconut is a full bar so you are able to order anything you'd like...or ask your bartender to create something special just for you! Specialty & alcoholic drinks are never included in the price of your cruise but you can use your drink package here!
El Loco Fresh & Cantina Fresca
If you find yourself a little hungry but don't want to leave the pool area, head over to El Loco Fresh on deck 15 for Mexican. El loco fresh is included with your cruise fare and serves up tacos, quesadillas, burritos and more. El Loco Fresh is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just steps away from El Loco Fresh you'll find Cantina Fresca where you can grab a margarita, a wide selection of tequilas and mezcals and plenty of Mexican beer. As I mentioned above, alcoholic and specialty drinks are not included with your cruise fare, but you can use your drink package at Cantina Fresca if you have one!
You'll also find Sprinkles, Royal Caribbean's soft serve ice cream station on deck 15 where you (or your kids) can feast on as much soft serve ice cream with toppings at no charge!
The Windjammer Cafe is also located on deck 15, close to all the action at the pools. You'll also find Hooked Seafood and the all-new Aquadome Market on deck 15 in the Aquadome neighborhood.
