Royal Caribbean International, often simply known as Royal Caribbean, is one of the world's leading cruise lines, renowned for its innovative ships, exceptional amenities, and diverse itineraries. The cruise line was founded in 1968 when three Norwegian shipping companies—Anders Wilhelmsen & Company, Gotaas Larsen, and I.M. Skaugen—joined forces to establish Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (RCCL).

RCCL launched its first ship, the Song of Norway, in 1970, introducing a new era of cruising with its innovative design and amenities. In 1982, the company introduced the groundbreaking Sovereign-class ships, which were the first mega-sized cruise ships of their time.

Throughout the years, Royal Caribbean continued to push the boundaries of what cruise vacations could offer. They introduced amenities like rock-climbing walls, ice-skating rinks, and even the FlowRider surf simulator, all aimed at providing passengers with unforgettable onboard experiences.

The 21st century brought even more innovations, with the introduction of the Oasis-class ships, the largest cruise ships in the world at the time, featuring neighborhoods, zip lines, and Central Park-inspired green spaces.

Today, Royal Caribbean is a global cruise industry leader, with a diverse fleet of ships that cater to a wide range of travelers. The cruise line continues to set sail to exciting destinations around the world, offering passengers unforgettable vacations at sea.
